Methods of helping people may vary from culture to culture. Different cultures have developed various response strategies. In an international setting, we can benefit from this and and develop a modern, functioning outreach. In other words, we can devise a program of assistance that meets both the individual’s needs and also take into account their cultural and sociological background. Intercultural exchange in the aid giving profession is a two-way street. It’s based on the respect for the work of others and the acceptance of different approaches. From that comes the synergy which makes new ideas and concepts possible.
